Too Many Visitors for One Little House
The crabby neighbors of El Camino Street do not like kids, do not like pets, and do not like big happy families. When a new family on the block moves in — a mom, a dad, three kids and a fish, the neighbors are NOT very happy. And as cousins, aunts, uncles, nannies and grannies arrive for a big family reunion, the neighbors are in for quite a surprise.

Cafe of Dreams- Blog Book Review says… *overall rating 5/5:Too Many Visitors for One Little House is a delightfully fun and lively story. Told in simple text and vividly fun pictures, readers will want to revisit this little house overflowing with family and love, where there is always room for one more, again and again…This is a story about embracing, including and keeping an open mind about others around you. I truly enjoyed every aspect of Too Many Visitors for One Little House. It is a delightful story to share and one to just embrace as a little escape from life’s craziness. I highly recommend this for all ages and as a great family story. http://cafeofdreams.blogspot.com/2009/11/review-too-many-visitors-for-one-little.html
Libby’s Library writes.… Adored this book… I laughed out loud while reading about all the crazy members who gather together for a family reunion. One after another,a baby, toddlers, teenagers, and older folks…they all show up and the fun begins. Merriment and mirth fill the house….but the neighbors aren’t happy and they plan to do something about it. Hysterical illustrations by Veronica Walsh. Too Many Visitors In One Little House is a delightful read for young and old alike. http://libslibrary.blogspot.com/2009/11/too-many-visitors-in-one-little-house.html
WRIGHTY’S READS writes…. This was an adorable children’s book with charming illustrations. The house filled with relatives reminded me of the upcoming holidays and how my own family will be getting together soon. It’s also a good reminder for including others who may be alone or have no plans of their own. Sometimes that nosy neighbor peeking out the window is just lonely! The story is lighthearted and humorous and enjoyable for adults as well as children. There is a comical variety of family members that provides every reader with someone to identify with. The illustrations are soft and colorful…There was so much to look at on every page! I will happily be sharing this book with the little people in my family. This might be something fun to do together on Thanksgiving Day. I know that I will be happy to read it again! http://wrightysreads.blogspot.com/2009/11/book-tour-too-many-visitors-for-one.html
Bookin with Bingo writes…What this colorful book does is shows how people must be kinder to each other and more accepting of different kinds of people… Surprisingly, when the neighbors were invited to partake in parts of the reunion, they were shocked at how much they really like many of the things that the new group had to offer. A cute book, with amazing illustrations, is good for 4-6 year olds who are learning about sharing and getting along well with neighbors. Parents who read this with their children can talk to them about what being a good neighbor means and how being friendly and tolerant is important in getting along with others. If anything can help illustrate the old adage of “Love Thy Neighbor”, this little book can. http://bookinwithbingo.blogspot.com/2009/11/too-many-visitors-for-one-little-house.html
WRITE FOR A READER REVIEW writes.…This is a cute book for kids. They will enjoy the vibrant, colorful illustrations, as well as the story. I can see teachers using this book for counting activities as the number of family members keeps growing. There is a message in this book, and I like to use books like this in the classroom. The message is one of inclusion, or the feeling of being included. The neighbors on El Camino Street don’t like pets, big families, noise, you name it, but when the new family moves in and they have a family reunion at their house things change. The neighbors notice what is going on, and as much as they say they don’t like it, they long to be a part of it. Isn’t that the way we feel sometimes? I know I’ve had kids in my classroom say they don’t like something, when they really do, once they see how much fun the others are having. This is a sweet book that I can see children asking for over and over again. 4 out of 5 stars for Too Many Visitors for One Little House. http://budurl.com/writeforareader
