I like this article. Not just this article, but many articles on this website. Programmers are human too.

But some questions remain: what if the good job has a bad salary and vice-versa? This is a frequent dilemma for many people.

Thanks for your comment. I raised three sons and couldn't never get enough of reading... Now as for them... they preferred playing "spy", or taking apart my couch and building forts with the pillows, digging holes in dirt, and playing with the boxes that toys came in and ofcourse- computer games. I still did not give up hope that they would be some day become avid readers. ( Stories is the way we connect and grapple with our humanity and in my opinion after food, clothing and shelter, is next in line. )

So during summers we went to book stores, and the library. I put them in reading clubs, read them bed time stories, took them to story time in the hopes to ignite the reading gene. All three boys eventually learned to love to read.

So if I can get kids excited about reading through the work I do.... well I think that's half the battle. It's up to them to find the books that will resonate with them and bring meaning to their lives.

What does a writer HOPES for??? I think a writer hopes for sales, some more than others. Your ideas for performance and book readings are great PR but my concern is what literary value do you offer kids in an already oversaturated children's book market?
